
Evening paving work is scheduled to begin tonight to smooth a section of Interstate 95 northbound in the Fredericksburg area. Workers will be milling and paving I-95 northbound between Exit 126 at Spotsylvania and Exit 130 at Route 3. Northbound I-95 traffic will be reduced to a single lane in the work zone overnight on Sunday through Thursday evenings. Weather permitting, work will begin tonight. Paving work will take several weeks to complete. Lane closures will be in place according to the following schedule:
Sundays
• 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closure
Mondays-Thursdays
• 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closure
Message boards will be activated on I-95 northbound leading up to the work zone to notify travelers of potential delays. Motorists may also consider using Route 1 northbound as an alternate route.
