This Saturday United Methodist churches around Virginia will be selling lemonade to try to keep people from dying from malaria. It’s World Malaria Day. Spokeswoman Maria Maxwell said, “One child dies very sixty seconds from Malaria. IF that statistic was true in my community, I would not tolerate it.” This is part of a year-long initiative to raise at least $1 million and save at least 100,000 lives from the deadly disease. Every church and every United Methodist in the Virginia Conference have been urged to take part. Details at vaumc.org/imaginenomalaria. “Huge opportunity to make a difference. Huge opportunity to make history,” Maxwell said
