Spotsylvania Schools came up short in the county budget approved by the Board of Supervisors. The new budget gives schools 17-thousand dollars more than last year. The School Board asked for 1.3 million more. Supervisors cut the car tax by five cents to $6.87. The real estate tax rate stays at 86 cents. Supervisor Gary Skinner says the board should look toward targeted tax increases to help fund schools. Supervisor Paul Trampe was the only no vote on the budget.
