Spotsylvania Resident Arrested for Child Pornography

SPOTSYLVANIA – Sheriff Roger L. Harris announced the arrest of Chad Leroy Miller, 47 of Spotsylvania for numerous counts of child pornography and Indecent Liberties with a Child While in a Custodial Role. Miller, who was a Girl Scout leader and family friend of the 14 year old female victim, is also being reported as a person of interest in a similar investigation in Fairfax, VA.

The investigation was initiated by Spotsylvania County Detectives when it was reported that Miller had allegedly sent the victim a link to a pornographic website. Upon further investigation by Detectives and Investigators from Child Protective Services, it was determined that Miller had also made inappropriate contact with the child.

Based upon evidence, uncovered during the investigation, a search warrant was executed on Miller’s residence. Several items of evidence were collected that corroborated earlier investigative findings. Cell phones and computers were also collected which yielded several hundred pornographic images involving children.

Sheriff Harris noted; “We place the highest priority on the safety of our children and these Detectives did an outstanding job of getting to a resolution of this case in a quick and professional manner. “
