RICHMOND – The governor of Virginia is ordering a full investigation into the violent arrest of an African-American student. University of Virginia student Martese Johnson is shown in a photo with blood streaming down his face as state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control agents held him down early Wednesday. His injuries required ten stitches.

The agents claim Johnson was very agitated and belligerent when they arrested him outside a Charlottesville bar, but witnesses are calling it a case of police brutality. University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan says she was sickened to see a video showing the aftermath of the arrest of student Martese Johnson.
