Spotsylvania (WFVA) -- It's either back to school or nearly back to school for kids this week. Spotsylvania School Board member Dawn Shelley says it's important for kids to be ready for a change in routine. "Get them back into the mindset of school," Shelley said. “Maybe start having them go to bed closer to their regular bed time and also getting them up early." Spotsylvania School Board Chairwoman Amanda Blalock said prepare your kids for change. "In middle school, I would visit the school and have them practice a lock because they had never had a locker before," she said. For younger kids, Blalock said have kindergartners walk around the kitchen and practice using a tray.
