Fredericksburg (WFVA) -- The head of the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank says she hasn't seen anything to indicate that the economy is improving. Oya Oliver said high numbers of people are still seeking help. "We hear that unemployment is down and the economy is growing here better than in most places," she said. But Oliver said there has been no change in the number of requests. She said there's widespread hunger in this area among all segments of the population--from young kids to senior citizens. Oliver said many seniors are faced with the dilemma--buy food or medicine.
