Stafford (WFVA) -- Stafford County is buying 13 acres in Boswell's Corner from the Silver Companies for 3.4 million dollars. Supervisors say the land will be used for a campus for its technology and research park. Board of Supervisors chairwoman Susan Stimpson said, "This has been a vision of all the board members and it's exciting to see it come about." Stimpson said studies show that every job in a research park generates an average of 2.57 jobs in the economy. "This park is a game changer for Stafford County, a very momentous step," said Supervisor Paul Milde. "Our strategy has always been to create a high-quality park, in collaboration with the private sector, in the right location that will draw military agencies, law enforcement organizations, federal contractors as well as respected higher education and research entities." Money to buy the land will come from the capital projects reserve fund.
