Stafford (WFVA) -- Stafford Supervisors last night rejected a proposal by the Silver Companies to build 490 apartments to western Stafford along the Celebrate Virginia Parkway. Some would have been for a nearby federal law enforcement training center. Only Supervisors Susan Stimpson and Ty Schieber voted for the plan. Supervisor Gary Snellings opposed it in his district saying he was concerned about growth coming to that area and what that would mean to schools. Snellings said he wasn't against apartments. “The reality is, you’ve got probably at least 2,000 more rooftops coming in on Route 17,” Snellings said.
