(Spotsylvania)- The State Corporation Commission heard testimony from Spotsylvania residents yesterday afternoon and last night for and against a proposed solar energy plant in the western part of the county. The project needs approval from the county. The State Corporation Commission must approve a certificate of convenience and necessity.
Another hearing is scheduled for the 23rd in Richmond.
No word on when the SCC will make a decision. The project would be built on over 6-thousand acres off West Catharpin Road with nearly 2 million solar panels. Pleinmont Solar’s application is Case PUR-2017-00162.
