Maryland Launches Vehicle Recall Notification Program

maryland

(Annapolis)- Maryland has become the first state in the nation to notify drivers about open recalls on their vehicles. Under a pilot program launched on Monday, the MVA will notify car owners and those leasing vehicles about recalls when they are sent their vehicle registration renewal notices. Maryland is using a federal grant of more than 220-thousand-dollars to set up the program. Drivers are alerted to any open recalls on their vehicle and are encouraged to take action to remedy the recalls.
