(Falmouth)- From VDOT:
Motorists can anticipate overnight travel delays on Route 1 at the Falmouth Bridge over the Rappahannock River next week for bridge deck repairs.
Traffic on northbound and southbound Route 1 between the city of Fredericksburg and Stafford County will be reduced to one lane each evening at 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday night. All travel lanes will be open by 6 a.m.
Lane closures are scheduled for the Falmouth Bridge at the following dates and times, weather permitting:
Sunday, Jan. 29 ˗˗ Thursday, Feb. 2
· 9 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m.
Crews will replace temporary asphalt patches on the bridge deck of the inside lanes with concrete to provide a smoother travel surface and a more durable repair, and reduce the risk of potholes.
