Stafford County
 
Interstate 95 Southbound
(New) Wednesday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m.  Two lanes will be closed on I-95 southbound at mile marker 135 to Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth) to allow crews to make bridge deck repairs to the bridge over Route 17. Crews will replace temporary asphalt patches on the bridge deck with concrete to provide a smoother, more durable travel surface and avoid potholes. A single lane will be closed at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. All lanes will be open to traffic by 6 a.m.
 
Route 1 at Falmouth Bridge
(New) Sunday ˗˗ Tuesday, and Thursday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m. Motorists should expect intermittent single lane closures overnight on Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) northbound and southbound at the Falmouth Bridge for bridge deck repairs. All lanes will be open to traffic by 6 a.m.
 
Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
 
·         Route 3 (Plank Road) – shoulder work
·         Route 218 (White Oak Road) – pipe cleaning
·         Route 607 (Ferry Road) – ditching
·         Route 624 (Morton Road) – shoulder work
·         Route 655 (Holly Corner Road) – shoulder work

Interstate 95 Southbound
(Update) Monday, 9:30 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Two lanes will be closed on I-95 southbound at mile marker 131 to allow crews to install new guardrail and remove temporary construction barriers barriers as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement project. The temporary barriers were used during construction of the new bridge. A single lane will be closed at 9:30 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m.  All lanes will be open to traffic by 5 a.m. each day.
 
Interstate 95 Northbound
(Update) Tuesday ˗˗ Wednesday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4:30 a.m. Two lanes will be closed on I-95 northbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue) to allow crews to install new guardrail and remove temporary construction barriers On both nights, a single lane will be closed at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m.  All lanes will be open to traffic by 4:30 a.m. each day.
 
Route 1 Southbound at Mary Washington Boulevard
(Update) Monday˗˗ Tuesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. A single left lane will be closed on southbound Route 1 between Alvey Drive and the Rappahannock Canal bridge. Crews will be installing new median at various locations in the work zone. Motorists may encounter brief delays.
 
Route 1 Northbound at Mary Washington Boulevard
(Update) Wednesday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 a.m. ˗˗  3 p.m. A single left lane will be closed on northbound Route 1 between Alvey Drive and the Rappahannock Canal bridge. Crews will be installing guard rail, sidewalks and curbing along Route 1. Expect brief delays approaching the work zone.
 
Mary Washington Boulevard
(New) Wednesday, 6 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m. Mary Washington Boulevard between Hospital Drive and Sam Perry Boulevard will be closed overnight for paving operations. A detour will be in place through the Mary Washington Hospital parking lot. Message boards will be posted to alert motorists to the detour.

Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures between Hospital Drive and Sam Perry Boulevard as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project. Motorists should stay alert for ongoing work in the median with crews working to install new curb and paving.
 
Fall Hill Avenue
Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Fall Hill Avenue between Carl D. Silver Parkway and the Rappahannock Canal for construction activity. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
 
Spotsylvania County
 
Interstate 95 Southbound at Thornburg
(New) Monday ˗˗ Thursday,  9:30 a.m. ˗˗ 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9:30 a.m. – noon. Motorists should be alert to short-term single lane closures at mile marker 119 to Exit 118 (Route 606/Thornburg) periodically through these days, as crews take soil samples. The work is part of the I-95 overpass replacement project, which will also improve the Exit 118 interchange, Mudd Tavern Road and Mallard Road. 
 
Route 1 Northbound at Massaponax
(New) Tuesday. 9 a.m. ˗˗ noon.  Traffic will be down to a single lane on northbound Route 1 at the Massaponax ramp to Interstate 95. Crews will be repairing guardrail along the Route 1 section under I-95. Expect brief delays. 
 
Route 620 (Harrison Road)
(New) Saturday ˗˗ Monday, 5 a.m. ˗˗ 5 p.m. A small section of Route 620 (Harrison Road) will be closed between Route 1 and Lafayette Boulevard as crews relocate worker and sewer lines. Posted message boards will direct motorists to use Route 1324 (Lassen Lane) as the recommended detour route. This work is part of the project to build new turn lanes and improve the Route 1 and Harrison Road intersection.
 
Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road)
(New) Monday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ noon. Motorists should expect intermittent single lane and shoulder closures on Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road) as crews take soil samples between Dan Bell Lane and the VDOT Smart Traffic Center. Motorists should be alert to workers and equipment in the work zone.
 
Mallard Road
(New) Monday ˗˗ Friday,  9 a.m. ˗˗ 3:30 p.m. Motorists should expect intermittent single lane closures on Mallard Road between Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road) and Safford RV as crews take soil samples.

(New) Monday ˗˗ Wednesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. Crews will be inspecting the Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard) bridges over the Mattaponi River. Motorists should expect single lane closures, shoulder closures and possible brief delays on Route 207 between Colonial Road and Nelson Hill Road westbound on Monday, Tuesday, and eastbound on Wednesday.

Route 301 at Rappahannock River
(New) Thursday, 7 a.m. ˗˗ 3:30 p.m. Motorists should expect a single lane closure on Route 301 northbound and southbound at the bridge over the Rappahannock River for work related to the bridge rehabilitation project. Expect brief delays on the bridge and at the bridge approaches.

Fall Hill Avenue Widening and I-95 Overpass Replacement Project 
Construction is underway on the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement project. Motorists should expect lane closures and brief delays on Fall Hill Avenue between the Rappahannock Canal bridge and Carl D. Silver Parkway (Central Park), as well as on Mary Washington Boulevard. Project completion is January 2017.
 
Route 1/ Hazel Run Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Work to improve the Route 1 bridge over Hazel Run in the city of Fredericksburg is underway. The bridge is located on Route 1 between Idlewood Boulevard and Kings Mill Drive. Motorists should be alert to construction equipment and crews working along the shoulder until early spring.  All travel lanes will be open in the work zone.  The bridge rehabilitation project is expected to be complete in May 2017.
 
Stafford County
 
95 Express Lanes Southern Terminus Extension
Construction is underway to extend 95 Express Lanes in Stafford County. The approximate 2.5 mile extension will carry traffic beyond the flyover ramp where 95 Express Lanes currently end, just north of Exit 143/Route 610 (Garrisonville Road). The new southbound exit ramp is scheduled to open by early 2018, and the northbound entrance ramp will open in summer 2018.
 
Route 610/Onville Road Intersection Improvement Project
Construction is underway at the intersection of Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) and Route 641 (Onville Road) to build additional turn lanes. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction on Onville Road. Project completion is May 2017.
 
Spotsylvania County
 
Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road) Interstate 95 Overpass Replacement and Road Improvements
(New) The project to build a new I-95 overpass on Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road), provide improvements to interstate ramps, Mudd Tavern Road east of I-95 and Mallard Road is underway. Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment on I-95 between mile marker 119 and Exit 118 (Route 606/Thornburg), Mudd Tavern Road, and Mallard Road. Construction for the $22.4 million project is expected to be complete by September 2019.
Route 1 and Route 620 (Harrison Road)
Construction to build additional turn lanes and extend existing turn lanes is underway at the intersection of Route 1 and Harrison Road in Spotsylvania County. Motorists should be alert for construction crews and equipment. Project completion is May 2018.
 
Caroline County/King George County
 
Route 301 at Rappahannock River
Bridge rehabilitation is underway on the James Madison Memorial Bridge over the Rappahannock River. Maintenance will occur below the bridge deck and includes repairing concrete, replacing bearings, shoring up rip-rap on the slope, and replacing navigation lights. All lanes are currently open on the bridge, but single lane closures will be in place periodically. Project completion is October 2017.
 
King George County
 
Route 218/Route 206 Intersection
Crews will be working to install a new traffic signal at the Route 218 (Caledon Road) and Route 206 (Dahlgren Road) intersection. Most construction work will occur outside the existing travel lanes till spring 2017. Project completion is fall 2017.
 
Caroline County/King and Queen County
 
Route 721 (Newtown Road)
Construction is underway to build a new bridge over Beverly Creek at the Caroline County and King and Queen County line.  Motorists are restricted to a single lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal in the work zone. The project is expected to be complete in July 2017.
