Routine Maintenance
Tuesday, Noon ˗˗ 3:30 p.m., Wednesday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:

• Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) – shoulder work
• Route 3 (Kings Highway) – shoulder work
• Route 608 (Brooke Road) – brush cutting
• Route 624 (Morton Road) – shoulder work
• Route 631 (Coal Landing Road) – tree trimming
• Route 642 (Barrett Heights) – shoulder work

City of Fredericksburg

Route 1 Southbound
(Update) Motorists may experience brief delays as crews continue to work in the median as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project. There will be no lane closures this week but motorists should be alert through the work zone with equipment and crews working near the travel lanes.

Fall Hill Avenue
Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Fall Hill Avenue between Carl D. Silver Parkway and the Rappahannock Canal Monday, Noon – 3 p.m., Tuesday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ noon.
Mary Washington Boulevard
Monday ˗˗ Saturday, 24 hours, Motorists should stay alert for ongoing work in the median of Mary Washington Boulevard between Route 1 and Sam Perry Boulevard as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project. Crews will be working to install new curb and paving. Lanes will remain open, but will be narrowed. Work will be underway in this area until the project is complete in January 2017.
Spotsylvania County

Interstate 95 Northbound
(Update) Tuesday, Noon ˗˗ 3:30 p.m., Wednesday ˗˗ Thursday, 9:30 a.m. ˗˗ 3:30 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ noon. Bridge rehabilitation work will resume on the I-95 bridge over the Ni River located at mile marker 121, south of Exit 126 (Spotsylvania). The left shoulder on I-95 northbound will be closed in the work zone. All travel lanes will remain open.

Route 3
Wednesday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m., Crews will be working on Route 3 and Route 620 (Harrison Road) on pedestrian modifications to the intersection. Motorists need to be alert as they approach the intersection. There may be brief delays with the right-turn lane intermittently closed.

Routine Maintenance
Tuesday, Noon ˗˗ 3:30 p.m., Wednesday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:

• Route 17 (Mills Drive) – brush cutting
• Route 612 (Catharpin Road) – patching
• Route 612 (Pamunkey Road) – patching
• Route 2140 (Fillmore Lane) – pipe cleaning

Caroline County

Route 17
(New) Tuesday, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Wednesday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Route 17 will be reduced to one lane near Rappahannock Academy at Fort A.P. Hill for guardrail repair. Motorists should follow direction from a flagging crew in the work zone.

Route 301 at Rappahannock River
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Motorists should expect a single lane closure on Route 301 northbound and southbound at the bridge over the Rappahannock River for work related to the bridge rehabilitation project. Expect brief delays on the bridge and at the bridge approaches.

Route 301 and Route 17 Intersection
(Update) Tuesday ˗˗ Wednesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Crews will work to upgrade the traffic signal at the Route 301 (Richmond Turnpike) and Route 17 (Tidewater Trail) intersection. Work will not interfere with traffic lanes but motorists should be alert to the work zone with crews working on both the right and left shoulders.

• Route 633 (Nancy Wright Road) – grading
• Route 652 (Ruther Glen Road) – shoulder work
• Route 654 (Colemans Mill Road) – shoulder work
• Route 656 (Dry Bridge Road) – shoulder work

Highway Improvement Projects

City of Fredericksburg

Fall Hill Avenue Widening and I-95 Overpass Replacement Project
Construction is underway on the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement project. Motorists should expect lane closures and brief delays on Fall Hill Avenue between the Rappahannock Canal bridge and Carl D. Silver Parkway (Central Park), as well as on Mary Washington Boulevard. Project completion is January 2017.

Stafford County

95 Express Lanes Southern Terminus Extension
Construction is underway to extend 95 Express Lanes in Stafford County. The approximate 2.5 mile extension will carry traffic beyond the flyover ramp where 95 Express Lanes currently end, just north of Exit 143/Route 610 (Garrisonville Road). The new southbound exit ramp is scheduled to open by early 2018, and the northbound entrance ramp will open in summer 2018.

Route 610/Onville Road Intersection Improvement Project
Construction is underway at the intersection of Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) and Route 641 (Onville Road) to build additional turn lanes. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction on Onville Road. Project completion is May 2017.

Spotsylvania County

Route 1 and Route 620 (Harrison Road)
Construction to build additional turn lanes and extend existing turn lanes is underway at the intersection of Route 1 and Harrison Road in Spotsylvania County. Motorists should be alert for construction crews and equipment. Project completion is May 2018.

Caroline County/King George County

Route 301 at Rappahannock River
Bridge rehabilitation is underway on the James Madison Memorial Bridge over the Rappahannock River. Maintenance will occur below the bridge deck and includes repairing concrete, replacing bearings, shoring up rip-rap on the slope, and replacing navigation lights. All lanes are currently open on the bridge, but single lane closures will be in place periodically. Project completion is October 2017.

King George County

Route 218/Route 206 Intersection
Crews will be working to install a new traffic signal at the Route 218 (Caledon Road) and Route 206 (Dahlgren Road) intersection. Most construction work will occur outside the existing travel lanes till spring 2017. Project completion is fall 2017.

Caroline County/King and Queen County

Route 721 (Newtown Road)
Construction is underway to build a new bridge over Beverly Creek at the Caroline County and King and Queen County line. Motorists are restricted to a single lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal in the work zone. The project is expected to be complete in July 2017.
