Fall Hill Avenue Widening and I-95 Overpass Replacement

Construction is underway on a $44.4 million project to widen Fall Hill Avenue in Fredericksburg to four lanes between Gordon W. Shelton Boulevard and the Rappahannock Canal.

A new four-lane overpass is under construction over I-95 northbound and southbound. Traffic began traveling on the first half of the newly constructed overpass in February, while work progresses on the second half of the bridge. Estimated project completion is January 2017.
