From Stafford County:

SimVentions, a government contractor working mainly in the defense, intelligence and national security arenas, opened their new corporate headquarters in Stafford County last week. A regional success story, the systems engineering, software development, and modeling and Simulation Company has 250+ current employees with plans to expand in the next two years, bringing more potential jobs.

“Stafford’s employers now offer more than 41,000 local jobs,” said Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Bob Thomas, George Washington District. “We are delighted that SimVentions is bringing more good paying jobs to our county, giving our workforce more options to work closer to home.”

SimVentions’ growth plan coupled with their focus on location – location of clients, collaborators, proximity to workforce and Washington, D.C. – drove them to locate the corporate headquarters in the Riverside Business Park this month.

“People are realizing Stafford County is a great place and that it is very business friendly,” said Larry Root, Chief Executive Officer for the privately held company. “For us, it’s close to our clients, close to our employees, far enough from Washington, yet close enough to go there when we need to. When clients visit, our sign is visible on I-95. Our headquarters is designed as an open creative environment to demonstrate the power of our products.”

SimVentions joins an increasing number of defense and intelligence contractors that have recently settled in Stafford County, from HP and Davis Defense, to Human Touch and Dispersive Technologies. This national security cluster is a leading economic driver for Stafford County and the Fredericksburg region. This is likely to be the case for many decades to come, even as Stafford continues efforts to diversify its commercial tax base.

“SimVentions is a true corporate steward. They have an exceptional reputation for treating their workforce well, and for being community-minded. Stafford is pleased to welcome them to our growing business community,” stated Supervisor Gary Snellings, Hartwood District, in whose district The Ward Corporation’s Riverside Business Park is located
