(Fredericksburg)-Badges for Baseball comes to Fredericksburg next week to Sunshine Ballpark on Wicklow Drive. Fire Chief Eddie Allen says it’s for kids 8-12 years old. It’s city residents only. Chief Allen says it’s baseball and more. Police and fire will demonstrate equipment each day. Kids will be taught about making right decisions. “Some of the decisions we make as children follow us thru adulthood. Part of the program is to teach them to make right decisions in certain situations. We’ll also talk about leadership and citizenship,” Allen said. More details at sunshineballpark.org. Spotsylvania and Stafford have had Badges for Baseball programs. This is a first for the city.
