Spotsy Stars And Stripes Still ON

spotsy-2

As of right now, Spotsylvania Stars and Stripes is still on. When/if there are changes from the county we’ll let you know here. Here is a statement from the county:

The weather will be monitored throughout the day by emergency officials. IF inclement weather arises during the event, all activities would be suspended, and everyone would be instructed to seek shelter, in designated shelter areas, or in their vehicles. (Designated shelter areas are the Holbert Building, the Merchant Square Building Lobby, the Historic Courthouse, and RE Lee Elementary School, via the main entrance.) Once the emergency officials gives the “all clear,” activities would resume as planned. (This procedure has been used at a past Spectacular when a thunderstorm passed through the area, and that event continued when that storm passed.)

IF the event begins then has to be canceled, everyone would be instructed to leave the area, and listen to their local radio stations (B101.5 and NewsTalk 1230 would be on site) as the fireworks portion of the event would be rescheduled to Sunday, weather permitting. NOTE: there would be no rescheduling of the daytime events of the Spectacular in this instance, only of the fireworks. There is no set time for when we would cancel the event. Thank you.
