Stafford Man Charged With Murder Of Foster Child

A 33-year old Stafford man has been arrested and charged with the murder of an 11 month old boy who was a foster child. David Marcussen has been charged with felony murder, involuntary manslaughter, cruelty to children and child neglect.

On January 6, a Stafford detective received a call from Stafford County Child Protective Services stating that they had received information that an 11 month old baby boy had been brought to an area hospital with burns to his face, torso and neck. After an evaluation by that hospital the baby was air-lifted to MCV Hospital in Richmond. Detectives determined the child received the burns while receiving a bath from his foster father, David Marcussen. The now 12 month old baby boy, died on February 1st .

The child has been identified as Ka’ron Mason. Ka’ron had been with his foster family since July of 2014. Marcussen was indicted by a Stafford County Special Grand Jury last Friday.
