FREDERICKSBURG – Today, April 9, marks the 150 anniversary of Robert E. Lee surrendering to General Grant in Appomattox.  Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park Historians John Hennessy and Frank O’Reilly talk about the implications then and today of the surrender 150 years ago at Appomattox Court House.

Bells will ring around the region today at 3:15 p.m. for four minutes.  The four minutes of bells represents the four years of the Civil War.
