CHARLOTTESVILLE – University of Virginia student Martese Johnson is not entering a plea to misdemeanor criminal charges despite being in court today.   Johnson’s case was continued to give the state more time to investigate his violent arrest last week.

That was defense attorney Daniel Watkins, who once again pointed to video of the arrest, which shows Johnson pinned down by an officer and bleeding from the head. The incident last week led to accusations of excessive force and racism. Johnson was charged with obstruction of justice and public intoxication.
