FREDERICKSBURG – The entire University of Mary Washington rugby team is being suspended due to a controversial recording. School spokeswoman Anna Billingsley says “administrators in Fredericksburg took action after hearing what appears to be a chant about sexual violence.”
Jezebel.com reports that a team member says only eight members of the team were actually at the party four months ago when the chant was recorded and there were members of other teams on hand. The suspension’s length is indefinite and rugby team members must also take a course about sexual assault.
